Sorry for my sending this out so late but I have been swamped. Today was a great day in the trade room. The first release we watched did not hit our triggers so we passed however the seconds release we were watching did hit our triggers and in fact it surpassed our triggers coming out -2.0 instead of the expected .5. In addition we had a revision which was lower buy .5 as well so this gave us a clear cut signal to buy and the market moved about 40 pips. Most of the fills in the room were around 1.8901 and I called a close around 1.8925/30 for half of the position and around 1.8919ish on the rest of the trade. This trade went right to our target and was a pretty cut and dry trade. I have a video of the trade however there are 2 problems with it. For some reason it didn’t record the audio and the chart feed died so it doesn’t do justice to the trade however at least you can see the strategy at work. The video is only about 60 seconds and there is no audio;. to see the video click here.
On to tomorrows trades, Tomorrow we have a couple of different things to watch. The first is the US GDP at 8:30am eastern which is expected at 2.9%. I would like to see about .3% deviation for a trade and a higher than expected number signals a sell and a lower than expected number signals a buy. We also have to watch the Core PCE. Now this is a little tricky, you see most of the calendars out there don’t even have a consensus and bloomberg only has 5 economists that reported on this number and the median is 2.8% so this could be an interesting release. I will use the 2.8% for my expected number but I would like to see some good deviation either higher or lower. A higher number confirms a sell and a lower number confirms a buy. This will probably not play a major role however I will be watching it. This could be a great trade, if you remember in July the trade room picked up around 60 pips on half of there position and 70 to 97 pips on the other half. In the video you hear that 70 was the highest however later someone came out and said they closed with 97 pips (Awesome Trade) the typical was around 70. There were some who closed out early but many made a very nice chunk. To see a video of that trade click here. This may take a few seconds to load. Good Luck Tomorrow!!!
